STORY The time is 20XX. Mysterious huge robots called "Giant Robo (GR)" started to appear all over the world and destroy cities. The earth was covered with fear. And their next target is Japan! The hero of this animation Daisaku Kusama encounters an enormous robot "Giant Robo 1 (GR1)" at the ancient ruins in Okinawa. He made a contract with a mysterious ancient and was approved to be a commander of GR1. Thus his battle has begun and creates a lot of dramas. Before long, Giant Robo of the 21st century will ask the world the true meaning of its power. The successor of the ancient supernatural power The Giant Robo in this animation is 30m high made of steel. It was not made by men of present times. It was made by ancients who used supernatural power. Daisaku was lead by mystical power to make a contract with GR1. Daisaku was given genetic modification and became one mind and one flesh with GR1 to fight together. The opponent organization that gives fear to the world The name of the organization on Daisaku's side is "UNISOM." The opponent organization is named "Gigantic Rebellion Operators (GRO)." The GRO extracts GR from the ruins all over the world. They manipulate Giant Robos and started an act of "armored terrorism" to the world. Robot as the new symbol of power Seeing the damage done by the terrorism of GRO, the United Nations and many countries started to recognize GR as a new power taking the place of nuclear weapon. Everybody started to propel the excavation, take custody and make use of the GR. What is the real purpose of each country having GR? The epitome of current society is reflected through the battle between the GR! Robot vs Robot, its new image and way of expression One of the attractiveness of the original story was the crash against the giant robots. This animation used the newest technology to express that excitement of the original story. "Robot animation" often fights against monsters and uses weapons. The mysterious girl V V is a mysterious girl who appears in front of Daisaku as if she were an illusion. What is the relationship between the GR and this fanciful girl? She surely increases the mysteriousness of the robots and spice up the story. The golden age of mass media and its threat behind the scenes "It is the only broadcasting station on air for 24hours without the nationality, Broadcasting Frontline Network (BFN)." This is the narration of a telecast station BFN which proceeds some parts of the story. BFN always report the scene of mass destruction done by GR. Is it propaganda telecast by some organization? This animation brings out the pitfall of the current information-oriented society which is currently believed to be fair and neutral. Theme How does human being plan to use the new "ultimate power" GR in order to save this beautiful world? This animation carries out the "humanistic" aspect which is always the foundation of Mr. Yokoyama Mitsuteru's cartoons. At the same time this animation creates entertainment images with dynamic and stylish touch. In addition, through the giant deity revived in current society, this animation exposes the stupidity and the emptiness of repeating the battle over and over and focuses on Daisaku trying to find hope for the future.
